"Final episode of Ma-sensei's live" The "Ma-sensei Friday Live", which is held every week at Music & Pub City Jack, reached its finale on the 22nd, marking the 400th anniversary of the event, with many customers seeing them off. A large number of customers came to the venue, some of whom were standing, and they handed bouquets of flowers to thank the staff for their efforts in organizing the event over the past 12 years, while also enjoying the final live performance. Former high school teacher Ma-sensei, also known as Nakamine Masaya (66), moved back from the main island and started holding Friday live performances at the same bar run by his classmate Ishigaki Hirotaka in February 2012. Except for the period when the coronavirus pandemic was spreading, the Friday live performances have been held almost every week. Nakamine carefully selects songs for each performance, and has performed with Ishigaki and others, mainly original songs and standard folk songs. On the final stage, about 100 people, including regulars who have been attending since the first performance, came to see the final Friday live performance. The show opened with Nakamine's song "Sazanami" accompanied by Nakagami Kayoko on piano, followed by songs such as "Bungaku Shoujo" and "Furusato no Umi" and ended with the classics "Sonna Ame no Yoru wa" and "Kani-san". 15 people, including guests, took to the stage to perform 22 songs, all originals, and the audience gave them a thunderous round of applause. Asato Takanori, who has been attending the show since its first performance, said, "I've come to see them perform over 300 times since they've continued their musical activities. There are many great songs, both nostalgic and original, and I hope they release a CD of their Friday Live." After finishing the final stage, Nakamine smiled and said, "If it weren't for COVID, we might have aimed for 500 performances. We've been able to continue this far thanks to the support of many members. From now on, I want to continue my musical activities with the motto of 'slow music life'."
