In 1974, he formed the legendary super band "Masaki Ueda and South to South" and stood at the peak of the band boom. After that, he became a solo artist, and in 1983, "Sad Iroyane" topped the singles chart. In addition to releasing numerous albums and singles and having hit songs, his activities have earned him high acclaim for his collaborations with many famous overseas artists, as well as releases and live performances overseas. As his career progressed, his musicality never wavered and he continued to pursue his own rhythm & blues and soul, and last year, in 2022, he celebrated his 50th anniversary since his debut. In April 2022, my old friend Tsurube Shofutei took the opportunity to write Masaki Ueda's version of the ending theme for the NHK BS Premium drama series "Shizuka-chan and Papa (starring Riho Yoshioka, starring Tsurube Shofukutei and others)".
