Myrst Summer Screening
30th and 31st: Written and directed by Nishime, a native of Ishigaki Island
Screenings of the independent film "My Last Summer," set on Ishigaki Island, will be held at CITY JACK on both the 30th and 31st. The screening starts at 7pm on the 30th and 5pm on the 31st. Free for high school students and younger, 1,000 yen for adults.
The film was written and directed by Nishime Aoki, a native of Ishigaki Island, and was shot in his hometown of Ishigaki Island last summer with his friends from the Film Department of Nihon University College of Art. The film is about the "last summer" of an 18-year-old. It is a coming-of-age film that reflects the memories and conflicts he felt when he was 18.
Nishimei encouraged many people to attend the event, saying, "I hope that the characters will inspire each viewer to reminisce about their own summer. I think that students, as well as adults, will feel nostalgic."
